Govinda's Catering had a wonderful reception on our first day at a Saturday Market in Carrboro. One of the patrons told me that it was actually quite slow for a Saturday, on account of the holiday. I was really okay with having less traffic because I had so much difficulty trying to keep up with the table as it was. There were samples to put out, questions to answer, money to take, emails to collect... you all get the idea. If I had had another two arms, I probably would have
For those who missed the grand announcement on Instagram (@rangadevidasi) and Facebook, this past Friday Govinda's Catering passed our inspection from the NC Department of Agriculture. This is a hugely important step. It is one thing to sell meals as we have been doing, "among friends." Yet, I would not be able to approach any coffee house, tea house, farmers' market, or any other food establishment about carrying our delectables, without having that written piece of paper in
Adventures in writing. Or perhaps it is more accurate to say adventures caused by writing. That was the theme of my personal life this week. Good morning! Perhaps some of you have been wondering if we are cooking this week. The answer is "Yes. Definitely!" It was just one of those weekends were I misplaced my superwoman cape, and thus couldn't seem to manage to get everything done in time to send this out to you yesterday.
I am very grateful to have good friends in my life. I am even more grateful because my friends have birthdays once in a while. Sometimes those friends have birthday parties in interesting pl
To all of you out there who either have or have had young children, I offer you the fist bump of solidarity. Early this morning I was in writing heaven. Ideas were flowing. I was entertaining myself with my cleverness. Then my son woke up. He was in a very cheerful mood... until he realized that I was writing this newsletter and not paying attention to his 13 minute story with 4 divergent plot lines. Ah the Sunday morning struggle...
At any rate, the menu is at least writ
