Govinda's Goes to the Fair
Yesterday was a wonderful adventure out at the 3rd Annual Triangle VegFest. The past week has been a bit of a blur getting everything ready for yesterday's event, as well as very successful business expo that I helped to organize that took place on Friday. Sigh. What a good feeling when the stress is behind you and everyone is happy with your event and your efforts.
So yesterday was the first time I have ever participated in a large street fair with Govinda's Catering. I have owned a retail business or two before and have a lot of experience with festivals, but this was definitely a first for me. We had a great spot yesterday, so many, many thanks to Helene, the organizer who arranged the map layout! We were busy pretty much all day and handed out an unimaginable amount of samples. I learned many "to do's" and "not to do's" for the next time. One of the main things that I took away from yesterday was that the people of Raleigh are definitely hungry for some good vegan cooking, and that as big as the city is, there still is by no means a saturation in that niche. There were surprisingly few prepared-food vendors at the festival, and I was decidedly hungry the whole day (there are only so many muffins you can eat in a day). ;-)
At any rate, here are some photos from our adventure.
Tuesday's production in the kitchen at PFAP. Our favorite gluten-free banana bread in jumbo muffin form. The lava cakes are in the back. We made 96 mini muffins, I think.

Radha at the finished booth. I completely turned over the task of designing it to her, as I hold no illusions about my lack of expertise in that area.
We have several more photos of the booth, and in the interest of time and space, I will not post them here. Feel free to check out my Facebook page or Instagram account for more peeks. And now, scroll down for this week's fab menu. I am pretty excited about all the fun things to come!
