Save the Dates
Several people this week have asked me if I was going to make sure to put details about my upcoming events in the newsletter. Before any distractions happened and any more time passed, I wanted to give you a "Save the Date" listing of events for July and the beginning of August (more August fun TBA later). Some of them are music-related, while some are events that feature Govinda's, and some are both. All, I hope, will be fun for you. Please mark your calendars and let me know if you plan to come so that I can make sure to be on the look-out.

Saturday, July 22nd - Kirtan and Live Recording with Samadhi at the Oasis at Carr Mill Mall, 200 North Greensboro St., Carrboro. The kirtan will go from 7 - 9 pm. Donations gratefully accepted. I do recommend coming early if you can, as the little slice of heaven that is the Oasis tends to fill up very quickly. Also Robert Roskind, our host, plans to stop service during the kirtan, so in order to enjoy some of their delicious teas and goodies, you will need to get there before 7 pm. *This is Samadhi's first-ever live recording, and we would love for you to come and be part of the magic!

Sunday, July 23rd - Triangle VegFest Mini Market, 9 am - 12 pm on the Southern Village Green in Chapel Hill. For those of you who have been with us for a few weeks or more, you probably remember the write up that I did of last month's market. This all-vegan Farmers' Market (yep, you heard that right - all-vegan market) was once an annual event, which just this year has gone monthly, due to demand. Folks come from far and wide to support the VegFest, enjoy sumptuous food from the vendors (including Govinda's) and meet other cool, health-conscious, environmentally-aware, like-minded folk. I highly recommend this as a fun way to spend a Sunday morning.

Saturday, July 29th - Govinda's Catering will be back at the Carrboro Farmers' Market from 7 am - 12 pm. I can't say that I have the whole routine early-morning market routine down, yet I can say that it does seem to get easier each month. I have figured out that a great way to prep for the market is to make extra each week, and then stock the freezer (my poor freezer!). Thus, if you have any requests for what you would like to see at the market, now is the time to send them to me, as I just may be able to work them in to the next couple of menus.

Saturday, August 5th - First Saturday kirtan with Samadhi and friends at Triangle Yoga, 930 MLK blvd., Chapel Hill. Potluck at 6:30, Kirtan from 7-9:00 pm. Donations cheerfully accepted. Samadhi has started partnering with other local chant artists and spiritual musicians to create a joint kirtan event. This gives a wonderful variation to the monthly kirtan theme by introducing a different guest artist each month (and the band really enjoys the opportunity to be in the audience for a change). Guest artist TBA.
